The Nana Konamah Fibroid Awareness Month

As you may or may not know, I underwent fibroid surgery last year and my activism was born. My journey opened my eyes to so much knowledge, and I’ve dedicated my life to being a resource so that no one woman is in the dark about fibroids.

I even made a cool little documentary with Jessica Nabongo of @thecatchmeifyoucan, sharing our respective fibroid experiences. Watch it here if you haven’t seen it!

July is Fibroid Awareness Month so y’all know I had to come correct! Apart from the end of July being my fibroid surgery anniversary, I will be dedicating this month to championing and providing resources on the public health crisis that affects so many women of African descent. Y’all heard me. 31 days of fibroid and period conversations on my Instagram, @nanakonamah and on my Youtube channel.

Every Tuesday in July, I’ll be dedicating my Youtube channel to answering important questions about fibroids. Dr Jacqueline Anita Sowah of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital here in Accra will be joining me to answer some of the nitty-gritty questions on fibroids and fibroid management.

On #FibroidFridays, I’ll be jumping on Instagram Live with women in the health, nutrition and activism space advocating for fibroids across the globe. Each conversation will cover the area of speciality of our guest plus personal stories to really build a connection with one another.

I’ll be resurrecting the hashtag #myfibroidstory so you can also join and do your part by sharing your story in solidarity with the movement.

Join me this July, as we take active steps to bring awareness to fibroids!
