4 Things You Didn't Know About Cape Town

Cape Town is known for amazing views, sights, sounds and of course wine.

But did you also know that it is a bustling hub for innovations?

Cape Town is beginning to be known for Innovations hubs and incubators like Idea Cartel and SeedLab not to mention the uber cool shared workspace: The Workshop

So here are 4 Things You (probably ) Didn’t Know About Cape Town

  1. As I mentioned before, Cape Town is home to a bustling innovations hub it has major similarities to silicon valley not just in landscape but also in the ideas and movements coming out of the city and its surrounding areas

  2. Cape Town's yuppy scene is super diverse. I met many young professionals in the tech space, and what was super exciting to me was the fact that they were from all over the African continent.

  3. Everyone who knows me, knows I admire David Kelley, he coined the term “design thinking” and founded the Stanford D- School. So I was super excited to learn that Cape Town’s leading university: University of Cape Town or affectionately known as UCT has a D- School! That’s right! move over Standford, there’s a new design- thinking school in town!

  4. There is a strong movement of women in STEM careers. Like those running SeedLab, Cape Town a women led innovations incubator that works to help legacy companies become more disruptive and agile.
